If your medical condition qualifies for repeat prescriptions there are a number of ways to request them:
Please Note: we are unable to accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone.
Please note; medications which need re-authorisation from the doctor (when it has exceeded the number of authorised repeats by the GP) might not appear on all online systems.
Prescriptions will usually be processed and sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy or printed and left at reception if you do not have a nominated pharmacy.
Please allow a minimum of 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
Help with NHS costs
In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website.
